He purchased a plot of land by the Spree, where he had previously leased space for his activities, and opened the inn on September 22, 1879. The establishment quickly became a local favorite, offering a welcoming space for travelers and locals alike.

Over the years, the inn changed hands and expanded its facilities. After Heinrich's passing in 1894, it was managed by Franz Windscheffel until Heinrich’s son, Wilhelm Gottlieb Ernst Moshake, took over in 1900. The inn flourished, especially with the advent of tourist boat trips through the Spreewald initiated by local teacher Paul Fahlisch. This influx of visitors led to the addition of a southern extension, a beer garden, and extra guest rooms, enhancing its appeal and capacity.
