Among these was a unique 14th-century artillery piece, known as the chamber à poudre de veuglaire, which now resides in the municipal archaeological depot of Nevers.

On May 4, 1993, President François Mitterrand delivered a eulogy for Pierre Bérégovoy, who had tragically taken his own life a few days earlier.
