Jean-François-Aimé Peyré, who led the institution for around twenty years, was succeeded by banker Poulet Salandrin, another founding member.

As the bank grew, the premises on Rue Roland, where it had relocated, became insufficient. This prompted the purchase of land on Rue Boiron, leading to the construction of a dedicated building for the savings bank.

To maintain the building's stability during the demolition, concrete structures were added in phases, and the façades were reinforced with a metal framework and tie rods encircling the building. The result was a harmonious blend of old and new, with two new buildings connected to the historic structure by a large glazed walkway.
